Laura found her musical calling singing with Messenger at Trinity Lutheran Church a decade ago. On a whim, Laura entered the Liburn City (GA) Idol Contest in 2012 and had a great time, winding up with a second place finish in the Adult category. So a couple of years later, when it was suggested that she might perform locally singing covers, she jumped at the chance. This effort has evolved into McHanIx. Laura appreciates every chance to sing for you.

Allen's musical exposure early in life was from his dad, George, whose albums are what you see on our logo; his uncle Don, who despite spending most of his life writing Christian songs is best known for co-writing "The Pill" for Loretta Lynn and "You Love The Ground I Walk On" (with Harlan Howard) for Waylon Jennings; and his brother, Kevin, who used to practice 3-4 hours a day and write his own music but unfortunately did not reach the musical success he may have deserved. Content to just noodle on guitar (and sax and keys) sparingly over the years, Allen was "coerced" into joining with Laura forming McHanIx in Fall 2015, and happy to have done so.
